Unit 5
Application of Aroma Materials in Fragranced Products
Fragrance Pathway
In this module, you’ll work through four individual sections where the content will provide an understanding and knowledge in the practical application of fragrances in household products, skincare products, and fine perfumes.
Section one will look at the history of fragranced products, including their methods of development and evaluation over the years. Section two takes a closer look at the different types of alcoholic skin fragrances available, such as fine perfumes and aftershaves. Section three shifts the focus onto the application of fragrances into everyday personal and skincare products including body washes and cosmetics.
Section four covers the home care market and investigates the fragrances in everyday household items including air fresheners, laundry products, and household cleaners. This section also includes a detailed appendix identifying typical application dosages for many of the products you’ll be learning about.
